By coincidence I dug an old 80s music tape out this morning and thought I'd try in my old car on the way to work. I was surprised how well it sounded, considering the tape has been gathering dust for many years at the back of the draw. My Bulgarian friend who has a lift with me didn't look to impressed though.
I'm feeling a cassette reborn moment coming on

My younger son was boss of a crew of 6 building fish cages. They used self catering for the whole crew and did their own cooking since there was no other available option.
Late afternoon the crew said " you go and make the dinner granddad we can manage without you".
He was in his 40's.

I tried playing some old cassettes I'd found. Some sounded OK, most were so low they were barely audible.

You remember when kids being driven to school was as rare as hens teeth. But if you question parents as to why they drive their kids to school , you get a torrent of abuse for suggesting they walk, cycle or get a bus.

Went into a petrol station a year or three back and a Rolling Stones track was playing on the muzak system. Was tapping my fingers to it on the counter waiting for my payment to process and the young lad on the counter said 'who's the band?"

I told him and he said " I' ve heard of them, a real old time outfit! “ 😍
