I saw the Red Arrows flying south over the town this afternoon , approximately 4.35. About 5 minutes later I saw a Hercules flying on a similar course but much higher.

On F24 this morning I saw that a B52 has taken off from Fairford and flown over the NorthSea, Denmark and up the Baltic

Did a few orbits just South of Gotland and started back

Pretty sure it would have been noticed by Vlad and his mates but this time it stayed away from Kaliningrad

Looking south from Peterborough you have the old brick pits and years ago you frequently saw they were under the west east flightpath for military stuff. Jaguars, Tornados, Herculean, the odd A10, but there's been much less to see over the last decade.
But today, three Typhoons quite low, one after the other swept east to west.
Regularly see them high, never seen them this low around here.

Can’t afford the petrol to get up high these days :-)

After years of swanning around at medium altitude lobbing JDAMs at Toyota Hiluxes, Ukraine is reminding us they need to go low to survive.

I'm seeing alot of Typhoons in North Yorkshire doing regular flights, much more than previous to the current war in Ukraine, with low flying & doing touch & go flying into RAF Leeming, also seeing them on training flights well away from base, but still in very rural areas of North Yorks & Cleveland

It quite struck me last years flying evening at Duxford....we all hear the roar of a Merlin, its quite unique and instantly recognisable.
It's not until you watch them pass close up, the supercharger whistle/whine really becomes obvious, you generally dont hear it at a distance. Much louder than I thought it would be, adds a whole new audible dimension.

Mustangs make a whining noise ! I think Sea Furies do as well.

Touched in this before but occasionally wonder why military stuff sometimes doesn't show on ADSB. What I assume are Typhoons are nearby, but nothing on ADSB. They're visible so often and yet, occasionally not. Just one of lifes minor conundrums
