What about the fish, you havnt identified the fish !I'm fairly sure this is a young Little Grebe, but not one hundred percent certain.

That looks so painfull Was the hook removed or has the poor thing had to suffer ?I know what you mean, it's terrible what discarded fishing gear can do.
