In these enlightened times we can no longer assume ;)
Oh now I know what you lot are taking about. I was taking about the whale, Free Willy.

But it's still going. When the electric rack/column fails on a 10 year old car then many owners would probably bin the car. Not so that little Fester.

The rust had seen to it, was only an old scrapper at a garage, we just had a drive to see what it was like.

I normally run my cars up to 180,000 miles on before changing, made an exception with the Mazda as I hated that car and it went with only 97,000 miles on.

Y reg 2001 Ford Focus. Purchased in 2012. 110,000 miles. I think rust is going to kill it at some point, but hoping for another year out of it.

Sounds like my 2002 one, surface rust on rear arches due to those daft fabric liners. It's gone bonkers this week, radio gone intermittent, drivers window stuck up (wrong time) & air con stopped.

It's doomed I tell you doomed.

What is the problem with the liners, I remove them quite often and they seem to do a good a job as any.

I heard that in Private Fraser's voice... :giggle:

Both my drivers window and the air con has not worked for about 4 years. I just can't be bothered getting it fixed.

1992 Corolla. Was owned by elderly husband and then his widow since new.

Full service history. Low but regular miles. Immaculate, no rust. I bought £600 4 years ago.

No electrics to go wrong. Wind up windows. Key operated doors and ignition. 1.3 fuel injected engine. 45mpg urban/A road combination, 65+ mpg motorway. Easily carries 5 with luggage.

Runs like clockwork. Nuts and bolts so easy for home mechanic. Classic car insurance. Gets nods of approval from other car nuts.

All my peers drive aspirational German cars. Feels good to stand out.
