As long as I breathe, I attack.
Pricing, the cost of raw materials to make them has risen dramatically over the last year or so .

My boardman is £100 more expensive compared to last year model.

The downgrades happen with a few brands. Specialized Allez, for example.

Oh and the £299 BTWIN rusk mentioned is awesome for that price, imho.

The new Virtuoso's look like a smart bit of kit but they unfortunately don't have the components to match the 2010 models. Makes me glad I got the last 20 inch one in my local Halfords before they ran out of 2010 ones

They are great bikes for the price though. I'd have happily paid full whack for mine (£380) but I got it for £300 because they were old stock.

In response, Just wondered if anyone would be interested in my Carrera Virtuoso. I bought it new & haven't really given it the full use it deserves cos it's a decent bike with the Shimano Sora components fitted. I fell out with cycling but have now got the bug so I thought I'd treat myself with a Scott Speedster, hence me needing to shift the Carrera.I've had it around 5yrs or so & although the frame has a mark here & there it doesn't detract that it's still in fine condition. I live M1 (Jun 30) if anyone is interested?
