normally ok but with working 6 days a week lately .................
The key characteristics of the Lunacy Challenger in your case are: a) you can start at any point in the year as it's not monthly, b) you can do more than one qualifying ride in any month. i.e. your 100km ride in January qualifies, and you don't need to worry about a ride in February.

Lovely day for cycling today. Bit of a delayed start because of a need for some last minute fettling. Through the grot and sewage farms near Croydon, down to Box Hill.

I really like Box Hill, the scenery is lovely, the gradient is easy, the surface is smooth. Lots of cyclists whizzing past me as I trundled up. There's a National Trust cafe at the top, but I didn't go there, instead I went to Destination Bike - a really nice cafe attached to a bike shop a km or so beyond the NT cafe.

Then I headed off through the lumpiness of the Surrey Hills, lots of cyclists (road and MTB) had come out to play in the nice weather. After that I wiggled through the flatlands to Crawley where I got temporarily lost in the back streets before getting a train home from Three Bridges.

I was starting to feel a bit of pressure to get March’s qualifying ride done so I’m relieved it’s out of the way. Straight up and down the V3 Voie Verte today between Mauron and Questembert with a little bit added at the southern end and a 3km loop on the V3 at the northern end before returning to my van.

No photos today - I sacrificed my camera for more food and I think it was a good choice

Also achieved today:

A couple of Eddingtons – E54Miles and E81kilometres

My road bike passed 25,000km today – under 5 years old. My van is older and has only done 33,000km so I expect the bike will pass the van in a few years’ time. I’m looking forward to the next 25,000km on the road bike.

I’ve passed 77,000km (since Jan 2017) and now need less than 23,000km to reach 100,000km before my 75th birthday in 2027.

Making the most of sunny weather, paternity leave and wife having plans to get out and tick off this month's entry. I thought I'd plan a route to spell out our baby girls name.

A good solid effort ride, although my power meter has starting throwing random numbers as am sure I didn't average 500w for 3.5hours!!

As the initiator of this year's challenge (ie the OP in the main thread) I feel a tad of responsibility which has overcome a few weeks of laissez faire.
First: welcome to the BR refugees @MadMalx and @CarbonClem I was chatting to another OTP when a refugee joined our Wednesday ride group in the pub. The influx of refugees has noticeably affected the dynamic of Cycle Chat with new PoVs and nuance in some threads.
Second: please keep the 'challenge thread' strictly to the rides. If there's chat in there it degenerates. This thread is the place for chat: make the effort to copy and save the quote on the challenge thread, and bring that quote and comment here.
Finally on format in the challenge thread:
  • Try to make each ride concise with date, distance and detail without a 'line feed'.
  • This keeps the posts, which increase as the months and great rides go by, to manageable lengths.
  • Please have no line spaces - same reason.
  • When I joined this challenge a few years ago I modelled my posts (to an extent) on @Sea of vapours - I commend this style to the house.
  • I like @Dogtrousers 'build up' plot and adds value but obviously that's inches of space, so maybe better here.
Finally finally - please take zero umbrage and if one or all take no notice, I'm absolutely fine with that.
And with that I must stop procrastinating and get out for a ride in the Devon sunshine.
