Correct: that's the ninth year done. Thanks. I may have a deliberate month off after the tenth to make failing on one less painful. I must update my signature.

And another recommendation for the four glove set of Dissent 133 gloves. They work very well as a highly flexible combination.

Completed - hooray! It has been motivating knowing I had this challenge although it has led to a certain amount of stick from fellow riders when I have chased "another 10k" so I can get to the magic number. I will I think record 10,000km and 130,000m on Strava by the end of this year which is the most ever, although I have only been riding seriously since I retired so there is not much competition for that record!

Some brilliant memories of lonely rides along sunken lanes and high moor tops, of rain and wind and sunshine and drought, new roads, old roads, cold days, hot days, easy rides and arse achingly hard ones. Maybe try an imperial century a month next year....hmmm...maybe.

Thanks for the company and thumbs up. You were my invisible peloton that kept me going out.

It's good advice @13rider but I don't have much choice without driving for an hour and a half into the flatter bits of Devon! I calculate I will have about 2000m of uphill on a 160k (100 mile) ride around here - so for me these will be eight hour to nine hour rides with stops. That's why it will be 'challenging'....!!

To give you and idea , wahoo died at 94 miles so you can add on another 400ft at least .
This route was pinched from the Cornish rattler sportive and it was particularly brutal
Edit not sure it was the rattler route but it was a sportive coast and clays ?

There are probably easier rides than this one - looks like Coast and Clay sportive which is quite brutal. Your segment times are very close to mine! Try this next time for less height and more flowing ride: View: https://ridewithgps.com/trips/50413735
or PM me when you are down again.

I've just completed the year too. I've often wondered what it would be like to ride to Dover along the spine of the Kent Downs rather than the flatlands to the south?

Well now I know. I lots of short steep climbs and descents on little twisty muddy lanes. It took me ages, last hour or so in the pitch dark.

I'm now on a train home completely shattered.

I'll fill in the details on the other thread some time when I'm feeling human again.

And with that post now in, @Dogtrousers becomes our 8th finisher! Congratulations on your sixth completion and your first since 2019.
