Plus the don't really need ironing as long as they haven't been tumble dried, which as we know causes severe creasing if left on too long. I've ironed the Viyella shirt I have before and it didn't look any different to before it was ironed. Any slight creases tend to disappear after half an hour of wearing.

So you have slight creases if you wash and don’t iron it but also have slight creases if you do iron it
I think you need to up your game.😂😂

Their cotton and wool mix shirts are fantastic in the winter. Very warm on a cold day. They do look good too.

Modern Viyella isn’t as good as proper old 60% wool. What they call Viyella now used to be called Clydella and used for workwear.

The best thing to do, in my opinion is to give the shirt a few good shakes after washing, then put it on a coat hanger to air dry. If you need the shirt asap then put it over a radiator. Maybe I don't press on hard enough when Ironing my Viyella shirt, but it doesn't really matter as they aren't meant to be a formal shirt. They are designed for country sports and rural work wear.

You may "know" that, but "we" don't, since in reality, tumble dried clothes have far fewer creases than line-dried clothes. Though obviously if you leave them lying in a pile in teh dryer for hours after it finishes, that will cause creases.

I rarely do pubs or restaurants these days, but when I do I weigh up the clientele and the cleanliness of the place. If it looks like a 5 out of 10 I'll wear nice, but charity shop clothing. If it looks like an 8 or 9 out of 10 I'll go expensive Cordings stuff. I probably wouldn't wear a full length coat no matter what the place scores as like you say, it's a problem finding somewhere to put such a coat. Potential theft of the coat or the contents of the pockets would be a concern. As for a hat, I'd have the same theft concerns, so mmmm, maybe this is why I don't go to pubs or restaurants much, if at all these days. 🤔 🧐

Just stick to your club in Mayfair.

Exactly! Without the British Empire they wouldnt be civilised, wouldn't stand for the national anthem, and wouldn't know the joys of Crown Green Bowls.
Flat green surely. No joy bowling over the fox holes and rmolehills on crown.

I might take up bowling this spring and summer. 🤔 I'm not a fan, but I have some off white chinos and three cricket jumpers, plus some white tennis shoes that need putting to good use!!🧐

Edit....Oh and I have a white linen flat cap as well. 🧐

I do have a cream Panama hat I could wear but it's in a 61 centimeter size, not my usual 60 centimeter size, which I bought thinking that although it might be slightly loose on the head it'll allow more air flow on very warm days. That may be so but imagine bending down to deliver a bowl towards the jack and it falls off my head at that crucial moment! 🤔 🧐

Bloody Hell Accy, I think we've inadvertently stumbled upon a cure for this country's woes. Reconstitute the British Empire!

Pith helmets. Afternoon tea. Volley fire. The Comet airliner. Waxed moustaches. Pathe News. We could make things truly wonderful again.

Aye Liz Truss could become Queen Victoria.

Aye
All for that , except Volley fire, we are not an excitable Muslim race , mind you the Pith's may offer some protection from falling lead from the volley fire.
