Thats it, we loose 3 minutes of daylight per day now. Summer's over and before you know it, it will soon be Christmas.

easy now, no need for that!

The co-op in my village started putting out Christmas chocolates on the weekend of the August Bank Holiday last year

I like today cos it's the longest day, but hate it cos it means the days are now turning shorter and I feel like it's 'downhill' all the way from here into winter.
Blurgh.

I HATE winter with a passion. Feels like the world shrinks and presses down on me, and I feel trapped by the lack of light and shorter days. Summer is when the sky opens up and the world feels like it has more space in it.

It's the longest day today, as from tomorrow the nights start to draw in, very slowly.

I always think the summer solstice marks the start of "proper" summer - the nights might start drawing in ...
Except looking on the bright side....

The nights don't start drawing in for a couple of weeks - though sunrise is already getting later, so is sunset for a few days (but by a bit less than sunrise), so although the days overall do start getting shorter now, the evenings are still (just) getting longer.

Oh, and of course the sea temperature should still be rising for another month.
