Did anyone else watch (Mondays) Gas Monkey?
I wouldn't have recorded/watched it, but it was the Bullitt episode, as It's not the same without Aaron Kaufman

Chad McQueen (Steves son) had challenged them to build a replica car, to recreate sections of the chase, & San Francisco had actually closed some of the iconic streets down for them to do so!!!
For that I could just about put up with Richard Rawlings bigging himself up

They found a '68 fastback, & recreated the car, & it did look totally gorgeous, & sounded correct too
I even played on YouTube, the initial scene, where Bullitt gets into the car & burbles away, it's practically identical in tone

Due to constraints, the villains car was a present model Dodge Challenger (not a Hell-Cat, I don't think)

I think he got fed up working to impossible deadlines, and having to put up with Rawlings. I believe there still good mates though.
