Reminds me of when I was on the Commando Walk - a yearly sponsored event at my school, where you went out and did 'challenges', mostly involving mud, it being the middle of the winter. One lunch break, with everyone eating their sandwiches under a bridge on the towpath, I decided to go up the slope to find out what was up there. Not much, it turned out. Coming back down the slope, what with the mud and no grip, I suddenly realised I'd picked up too much speed, and wasn't going to be able to stop in time. All my friends saw was me, for no apparent reason, trotting down the slope, over the towpath, and into the canal.

It was very cold.

Was that the last bath you had?? (See the other thread).

go get an mtb and go back and have some real fun on a real bike .
And end up in the same position, but it would be more funny as falling off an MTB is compulsory.

As an update, both the rear mech hanger and the rear mech cage got bent due to the full weight of the bike landing on it (she isn't the lightest). I've managed to straighten everything the best I could, but just trying to source replacement parts in case my bodge isn't good enough.

Also, a slight aside, for Strava users, the previous day I actually managed to get the KOM on that stretch of road, averaging 24.3mph, on this run my average was 4.3mph, it is nice to get the book ends!
