The second had been recorded as an own goal which seems a bit harsh given far more deflected goals have been credited to the striker of the ball.

It depends on whether the shot was on target before being deflected or not.

So if the shot was heading for the right corner of the goal and got deflected all the way to the left corner, it is still credited to the attacker, but if was deflected from missing by six inches to being just inside the goal, it is an own goal.

After yesterday's match it's clear you have a huge hole in that position.

A bit cheeky, but that's football, of LFC to try and hijack the move.

Looks like Lavia is coming our way too.

Those two plus Enzo would be some midfield.

Yes. IMO lfc handled all that very badly.
Interesting to see where we go from here.

Much the same applied to Chelsea. I don't often watch PL football. I was surprised by how both sides lacked any real cutting edge.

Decent game but not much in the way of incisive attacking play. Chelsea without doubt the better side, disappointed in Liverpool.

Good to see that we have filled that DM role.

LFC very off the pace to fill the same position.

Will now enable Enzo to play further forward which will sharpen support to our attack.

Jackson was v.good, made a huge amount if attacking runs. A little bit more poise needed re finishing.

Happy with what I have seen do far.

Have to admit I thought Wolves deserved a point tonight but really impressed with the performance.

Definitely the better side overall. Far more direct and some cracking runs making a mockery of Man Utds central defensive and midfield. Just need more composure in front of goal.

And how that wasn't a penalty in added time I do not know.

A repeat of last season's qualifying play off final @Slick https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66501062
I said after Rangers embarrassing Champions League campaign last season that maybe it would've been better if they'd lost to PSV and played in the Europa League instead. I hope they beat PSV, but the Europa League would yield better results. :okay:

I think that's a fair enough assessment of where we are right now Accy. We were really 5hite last season and if I'm honest, I've yet to see any signs of improvement, other than our squad might be a bit bigger. That could be code for, our manager still doesn't know who his best team is yet, so he keeps rotating, which never works. We will give PSV a game, but I reckon they are a better team than they were last season so as long as we go down fighting, I'll be happy with EUEFA cup this season. The only real reason teams like Rangers want champions league football is cash rather than any great desire to compete.

I have never understood the rule where a team that doesn't go any further in the CL gets a second bite of the cherry in the Europa League.
@Slick This isn't a go at Rangers or any other team in the same predicament but at EUFA.

because they want "the top clubs" to play in one of the 3 competitions, so the qualifying rounds are there to sort that out, if you get stuffed out early because your country only gets access to an early qualifying round then that's it. But the big nations enter at such a point you get 2 (or 3 bites with these newer mickey mouse Europa sub league compo) at the cherry
