Slightly OT...

My shoes are fine, but my helmet smells cheesy towards the end of the week! I wash the padding but this will start to perish soon I guess, anyone know if you can get replacement padding for helmets?

Soak for twenty four hours in neat bleach.

is that his feet or the shoes.

You could try putting them in the freezer overnight. Kills bedbugs..(allegedly)

Similar to the cat litter method bicarbonate of soda works the same way fill shoes up leave for 24 hours empty or hoover out no nasty niffs.
No idea why road shoes get so nasty but my commuter shoes are noxious.

The guy who was looking for replacement helmet pads have a look here.

bacteria are killed by ultrasonic I think. Not sure about cooking them in the microwave though unless you intend to eat them :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

I use the microwave to sterilise my kitchen cloths, and it certainly kills of the whiff. I googled it and found this from the Daily Wail, plus a fire warning from the BBC.

I sometimes use it to kill off the stinky bacteria in my sweaty Buff if I'm not doing a machine wash that night; simply wet and wring out the Buff a bit and microwave for 2 minutes. Of course, I stand guard as it 'cooks' to make sure it doesn't burst into flames and burn down the kitchen
