The 'Endeavour' sculpture was made by a friend of ours, Malcolm Robertson.

My mum took the dog (bichon, pure white coat) into Sudgies a while ago while she was waiting for someone and they told her she had to leave because the dog was a health hazard when in actual fact she was keeping the dog in her handbag because the pub's so dirty she was feart she'd catch something or end up filthy black. The bloody cheek of them! Her partner was horrified when he went into the Widows and discovered that you can buy Buckie by the glass although you've been able to do that for years in Sleazy's in Glasgow

My wife did some of her GP training in Greenock and Port Glasgow. She used to describe the 'multicoloured' nature of a generation of children in the area due to the frequent liaisons between the local girls (working or otherwise) and servicemen at the US Naval Base near Dunoon.
