The Amazon & Visa fallout

Who's going to update their payment method from Visa Credit to Mastercard ?
I'm going to hold fire until the last minute, because i believe both parties will find a solution. There is too much money at stake for there not to be a resolution.

Received that email today. Not taking any action here either just yet as, given the option, I'm sure they will still want my money regardless of how I pay.....

If it goes ahead, I think they will both be losers, too much lost revenues for both parties. Got the email today too and shall wait for the time being.

It’s annoying as my business bank account only uses visa. I’ll give it until early jan then look to switch. I think it’ll get resolved.

There used to be a cap on credit card fees but now that’s gone so visa have hiked their rates. Another Brexit dividend.

My credit card is Mastercard - I think they changed it fairly recently

Guess what. It’s a brexit issue.
The EU has a cap on credit card charges.
As soon as we left the EU Visa stuck their charges up.

Neither Amazon or Visa are saying what the fees are, but i read it's 0.1% per transaction which doesn't seem unreasonable to me.

In the past six months my Mastercard Credit Card has been changed to a Visa Credit Card and my Visa Debit Card changed to a Mastercard Debit Card!

Still pay for virtually everything with my AMEX.

Our prime subscription was due for renewal tomorrow, and have decided not to renew, we don't like being used as pawns.

As an aside, was I the only one who thought that the email was a scam? I only realised it was true when I heard it in the radio.

In an all out street brawl, I'd back the might of Amazon. I reckon people would sooner get another card than not buy from Amazon. They are a monster of a business, in both senses, but people are addicted.

Yes. This. It’s easier to switch to MasterCard then to switch to an Amazon alternative. Amazon will win.
