I,m partial to looking at pictures of panaches
could you zoom in to the rear hub for me ?

I told you it would take me a long time.... the magnesium kept going out in the rain
.....now if I can work out how to attach a photo.........
NB warning for those of a mechanical disposition, please don't cry - it's had a good life, really!

Yeah. I was doing about 80 miles a week on it until about easter. It was a bit of a pain going down hill as the chain tended to come off if I wasn't concentrating and get wedged between the guard and the round and round thingy, oh and the peddles make a sort of churning sound. And apparently the front wheel axle is a bit worn.
Brakes are great though.

Well done Kate! 50 miles in serious stuff for many experienced cyclists. I love fig rolls too but is it me or are they more roll and less fig than they used to be?

OH you mean when you are coming down a hill in the pouring rain and there's a T junction at the bottom...

I always found that there was not enough leverage, the screws that hold them to the levers used to come undone and they would fall off when you tried to use them  also they reduce the travel of the brake lever because there are actually bits of metal that go into the gap of the lever so hold the brake levers partially on.

I'm struggling with fig rolls...I keep inhaling crumbs..
what really gets me is the rampant fig roll profiteering that the major supermarkets indulge in. They hook you in with a cheap deal and then once they've got you they keep changing the price, up mostly. And they put them on the top shelf so little elderly people can't reach... the poor dears aren't doing aerobics in the biscuit aisle, they're just trying to do their shopping.
