Hercules 2 is grounded. Well stood in an embarrassing puddle of brake fluid.

Where can I buy a Tektro replacement brake handle?
A TKD115, left hand

I know the problem - whilst off in Wales a mechanic at LBS stripped the thread. That means there's no pressure in the system, the fluid has escaped.
Now I have no rear brake
I need a new brake handle. But they seem invisible on the WWW

I know I could drill out the damaged one and drop a thread repair in. But 3mm dia there's not much meat in the casting.

Await the wisdom and insight of the community

What's a brake handle? A lever?
This sort of thing?

Except that is front brake lever. It would be the wrong way up if you used it. It comes with the brake caliper and hose. The hose will be too short to be used on the rear.

The hose and caliper are fine.
For symmetry I'd like the same lever type on left and right.
Hence expect to by a matching pair of levers.

Tekro use mineral oil, the same formula as Shimano, you can likely use a Shimano lever as a replacement if needed.

Yes. Seems Tektro go out of their way to confuse. Works with me anyway.

Looks like buying a reasonable value set of Shimano and just changing the brake handles.

The Tektro on my bike have 35mm fixing centres instead of 75mm on the Shimano.

Keep in mind some of the more less budget levers have servowave which means you get much quicker brake activation and more modulation, worth getting if you can.
