Who's up for a valentine TTT, or are you all looking after you significant others?
I think I've successfully persuaded my wife of the meaningless marketing hype of Valentines day so I'll be there.....hopefully!

New turbo tyre

Hmmmm Interesting. XC race tyre by the looks of it. Depending on what actually causes most of the friction, it could work well due to the smooth knobbles reducing the contact area between rubber and roller. Wouldn't work better on the road, but trainer and road seem to work very differently.

Whilst its great fun to have these huge power results, its just not consistent. 50% improvement over your standard is just not realistic.
You just found that out? ^_^

More like 40% compared to real life, but yes that is a huge diffence. There's no doubt that many Bkoolers benefit from more or less Bkool generosity from time to time, so how much would be acceptable?.
I certainly wouldn't allow a ride like that to be decisive for the overall rankings, but seeing the kind of sessions others save in the WC, I think it's ok to stir up things now and then.

It is a bit anoying since I really need consistency to be able to follow any training plan. Still hoping I will get a more reliable Pro when I finally get a working 2017 Pro sample..

I was watching a rerun of a Zwift race from their facebook page, there must of been 50+ or more riders, the graphics were great and the power figures seem on a whole very realistic. One feature I hadn't noticed before is that you can see your opposition W/Kg figure, so can tell when they are putting in an effort or taking it easy. I'm really coming round to Zwift as a platform. I've got two months paid membership with Bkool left, I like bkool for the racing and variety, mostly this site keeps me on Bkool. I tend to spend a week learning my new power figure when coming off the kickr onto the Pro and vice versa. I think with Zwift there will be very little difference. A side note a fella reviewed the new kickr on zwift, with 2 other power meters simultaneously, all 3 were pretty much identical.

My new 40mm G Ones are for road training and general riding around on my Tripster. Indoor structured training- TrainerRoad, racing- Bkool or Zwift maybe. Lets see if Bkool sort out the differences

The racing amongst us lot and the craic that goes with it is great and keeps me here but the inconsistency in a users turbo performance, let alone between his/hers competitors and other users bkool turbos is striking and it only really hit me when i started to ride in zwift more. It is not necessarily a better platform but because it wants to become the platform of choice for training and racing, huge efforts are being put into ensuring accuracy of power for all different turbo types and power meters. Hence provision of power curves for non smart trainers, the use of zwiftpower etc in races so that competitors can assess performance more objectively and, crucially, allowing powermeter use alongside dumb or even smart training. Why the Feck wont bkool allow this?!? Zwift are doing nothing new-TR were already doing this for training purposes. Turbo producers try to ensure their trainers perform properly and measurably in Zwift. Bkool wont/can't even ensure their own trainers perform reliably and consistently in bsim! And they have zero interest in ensuring others companies trainers can compete in races in the bkool world. Sadly it does not matter. Racing on Zwift is huge. The events module is overwhelmed with races of all kinds and for all types/abilities including rabbit and hare chases up Watopia mountain. Soon, a race organiser will be able to set up a password protected closed race so we could all race each other again, and with the option to hide other users on the course or have them their BUT they wont be able to see you. I think i have only another week or so of my bkool subscription left.I hope to see some of you on the other side at some point. You will see Rick and Ryan, and quite a few others that used to ride regularly in bsim.Or for real life climbs and rides I might see you in BigVR or one of the other competitors that will snap ever more at bkool's heels. Put simply I think bkool are fools if they don't address the issues that undermine such an initially compelling hardware and software combination and embrace other trainers and powermeter integration.

Coming from Bkool I find the Zwift races confusing. How does one see current position. I can't even seem to find out the race distance.

On the right side of the screen there is a list of competitors, their time difference between each rider. W/kg displayed. Top centre has duration time of race. Top left is your own power, cadence speed HR etc. I bet these as customised for own preference. Bob will know?
