Breedon, Ta for the ride on earlier. I scrolled through the list of riders but could not find you. I could have done with some company as I blitzed up Watopia with a new PB:rolleyes: . Then my router went down and my planned 50km ride went with it:angry:
I wasn't on tonight having a rest day just checked to see who was on and it was you^_^.

This was Jacobs idea and he has been inviting would be contenders, as he see them, to understand if there is any interest.
I must admit I admire the idea but personally I probably could not manage 3 back to back sessions.
As an individual BKooling is and escape from 'reality' that keeps me fit, i.e. on line gaming with a twist.
I certainly, for various personal reasons do not want to get mixed up in any press releases or coverage but if anyone else is keen let me know and I will pass on your names.
Not sure why he thinks dead stops only happen about 8% though?

BKOOL NATIONS CUP:
Which country has the best bkoolers? Spain, Great Britain or Denmark (I have chosen these three countries as we dominate most leagues and livesessions, but more countries could participate)
Saturday 25th march at 11.00 there will be an event with 3 sessions and 5 riders from each country.
The 5 riders must be named one week before the event.
The three session will be available in good time to make it possible to practice and make tactics.
One route with good climb but max slope of 8-10% to avoid dead stops.
One route with a lot of small climbs.
One velodrome-route.
The riders get points from 15 til 1 at each session and the country with most points after all 3 sessions are the winners.
There will be a time limit of 20-30% at each session.
The next session starts 5 minuts after the last rider has reached the goal / the time limit is reached. If a rider misses the timelimit he is out for the rest of the event.
Bkool HQ equips the avatars with jerseys in the national colours.
To prevent non-participants from joining the session it should be locked, but at the same time it should be open for spectators.
I think the event should be run in the Bkool Spain/world name and have a lot of attention at facebook, the blog and everywhere.

In Denmark we will do it like this:
  • We have a season-rankinglist with more than 900 danish riders and the 5 riders at the top will be awarded a spot at the team OR we make three tryout-sessions and awards the 5 best for the team
  • The 5 riders and a Head of Team meets in a Danish cyclestore on raceday and do the races from there. That will make it possible for spectators and the press to come to the store and follow the races. Bkool Nordic would hopefully help with the technically setup.
  • Both the cyclestore and Bkool Nordic should provide a cycle jerseys for the riders to make then look as a team.
  • We will try to get some live streamning on facebook
  • I will make a press release and sent it to Tv-broadcasters, local papers, cycling-magazines and online cycling-sites, and hope for some attention. Towards the big medias I will write about bkool as an active kind of E-sport, because E-sport is a lot in the medias in Denmark at the moment.
  • After the event the riders, Head of Team, the cyclestorestaff and bkool Nordic staff will have fun, eat a bit and drink a beer J
Let me hear what you think of this idea. It is BIG and I am aware that it might not be possible

I think it's a grand idea. It also has the potential to encoura bkool to engage with its more active and passionate users and to listen to and understand concerns about its foibles. Win win perhaps?

... and welcome team GB, a bunch of old/overweight/bald (take your pick) chaps clad in lycra taking on the rest of the virtual world... live interviews on tv and radio... what's not to like?

Sounds a bit too serious. I like the challenge of racing Jim, GW, Randy etc but that's fun, like you say, an online game with health benefits. He's clearly thought about it a lot!!

It'll be worth it if it encourages Bkool to sort out the issue with adding new kit...

900 danish guys and girls all signed up to the same league? Did I have that right? Think that's very impressive.

Are there any other British / English speaking leagues anyone knows of? I know there's a few Spanish ones.

I think it sounds like a great - and pretty impressive idea! If Jacob gets the kind of publicity he's after I would like to think Bkool would also be very supportive in helping to make it work technically.

Should we actively promote a buisines that won't even respond to our emails? Maybe I'm being a bit of a kill joy...

Nah, you are not. I was on their FB page earlier and someone was complaining about a lack of response for customer support to a problem but having received a request to rate their support! Sound familiar? I nearly weighed in and then I remember I no longer have a bkool pro!
That said if it goes ahead will bkool want everyone seeing the dead stops etc? The organisers could really encourage bkool to sort these things.

No that's a fair point TT!

Recent example - league related. I emailed them to ask if they could do anything about that Winter Cup stage I inadvertently did at a much lower weight, worried it would be unfair. They emailed me back about 10 days later saying they couldn't do anything and I should contact the league admin....ummm that's Bkool themselves surely????!

Didn't matter in the end as I did a quicker time at my correct weight but an example of what you're up against!

What percentage are female, that's my major question?
I might be interested in joining up!

It's bizarre isn't it. In some ways I'd be quite surprised if they were capable of organising an event like this even in a minor role. It would be really cool if it did work though and encouraged them to push on with improvements.

I'm not sure what, if any presence they have in the uk. Jacob believes it's possible so maybe he's received some encouragement from Bkool. Bob you're right and a guy like Jacob who seems very capable, in a region that maybe gets more Bkool attention than the uk, could be the guy to help rattle their cage a bit. Although he doesn't seem to have a total grip on how dead stops effect the user.

Bkool bashing aside I'd love to see AAAC involved. Mainly because I'm still not 100% convinced he isn't at least part bionic man!

Did Bkool respond?
