Tonight I had a problem. My ProTrainer doesn't register the resistance. It's the same all the time. Tried restarting everything but still the same,no variable resistance. What Could be wrong? Could it be software problems or something with the magnetisk?Using iPad.
Please help.
I had similar with my classic, although that was 10 months old. It's currently back with the supplier for investigations.

I'm using one of these -

I had an old D-Link version lying around from an old desktop, and it seems to have stopped the signal dropout of the trainer with thte dongle
I also check the ride details of the file first, there are a ton of rides in the sessions tab that seem to have unusable gradients generated, like 30+ up to 50% gradients!

Just finished a session but cant see it iether, hopefully it has saved!

Mine is lost again. 1.5 hours 5000 ft vertical climb. Not amused. Yesterdays was 1 hour 15 mins 4000ft climb.
The first one I lost was a 4 hour ride a few weeks ago. I think the longer rides are bigger files and therefore more likely not to save when their system is unstable.

Is Tacx more stabile than Bkool? Maybe I made the wrong choice? Hope not cause Bkool really got potential!

Tacx is as stable as your PC is. Tacx is installed locally on your PC and nothing is streamed from a cloud like BKool. You need to have the TACX videos either running off the dvd or installed on a hard drive.
I have only ever used TTS3 software, but when that first came out it was a major drama as well getting things to work properly, but usually a patch fix would be released to rectify most problems like files not syncing to video files for example.
There is no comparison to the build quality of the hardware though, Tacx wins that hands down in my opinion. The plastic casing around the electro-motor is twice as thick as the BKool unit, there is no way you can push on the fan cover of a Tacx and flex it like the BKool.
I'm no materials engineer though so I don't know if it makes tacx better?

theedge - looking forward to your new vids

Paulf - I've had good luck w/ Handbrake stock settings + the following changes (starting w/ 720p 30fps video - recored w/ garmin Virb)...
- remove audio tracks
- select constant quality, vary RF setting slider until filesize less than 2.5GB limit.
You can use the preview window to try different settings before processing the whole file

Enjoy.
I'd like to give that a go. (Not having experienced any multi player sessions so far)
I am trying to build a group... so far with Add we exchange emails to send the invite: does anyone want to get together and start a group? maybe choose 1 day a week were we all ride together ... each week we change routes... let me know, if we have enough people I will be more than glad to start the group and send out reminders.!

Another thought,.. (ouch!)
Has anyone considered starting a specific forum like the Tacx forum? It can be done for free using - https://www.proboards.com/
This thread now has over 80 pages all full of great info and tips, but totally unfiltered, so If someone new was to jump in here they gotta spend an hour starting from post 1. I would be more than happy to help out moderating or whatever if needed. What do the rest of you think?
Or does it already exist somewhere else?
