Not used the BKOOL since my last tech support call and still having issues with the resistance not changing  Had another tech call today where they updated the firmware on my trainer, checked the calibration of the magnets and updated the BSim app but still no luck with the resistance working.
Looks its heading back to Wiggle for either a refund or a alternative model.

That must be really annoying .
I can't see it being a software problem, or I'd expect lots of people to be experiencing it. My guess is that something in the turbo has broken, and replacement is the only option.
Are you thinking of giving BKool a second chance, or will you go to Tacx?

I'm going to get it out again today and see if it will work, if not I'll be onto Wiggle about returning it. Not sure if I will have a replacement as I would be worried about it happening again I'd more than likely go for a Kurt Kinetic Road Machine, something a bit simpler with less to go wrong.

I've been challenged and beaten by two people in the last two days, I don't take these things personally, but what's really annoying is that I had to get off the bike to go back into the house and turn the oven on for the roast dinner, this took me about two minutes from start to finish. One person beat me by 53 seconds, the other by 1 minute 31 seconds, gggrrrrrrr.

Yesterday I finished my attempt at stage 1 of this year's TdF on the BKool using Google Earth. The official distance is 191 km. I split it into 5 separate rides (total distance 206.63 km due to the vagaries of mapping software) and did them as and when I was in the mood.
Total Ascent: 2617m.
Time: 08:08:48 .

Impressive stuff  I was going to have a go, but they are probably a little too long time wise for me to spend on the turbo, either that or I need to get faster! An hour seems to be my limit before I get uncomfortable / bored.

Thanks, but I thought the time was rubbish. I'd have been happy with 7:42:00 as the average speed would have been over 16.6 mph. That's the sort of speed I would expect for the average gradient involved.
As for being uncomfortable - it shouldn't happen if my position is right (which it isn't, so I put up with it and keep tweaking).
I don't do boredom. Not on a bike, anyway. I can always find some aspect of the ride or my technique to concentrate on.

I can spend many hours on the bike on the road without any comfort issues, on the turbo not so, I think it's the shorts but am looking at options.

Bored was probably the wrong word, I see the turbo as a utility to help me train and improve technique. I tend to do up to an hour as I can do some hard work on it in that time, the benefits of which I have seen on the club rides. The turbo is great as I often work late and don't have time to get out in the evenings but doing an hour while my wife is watching masterchef seems to be a good use of time.
