Got ready for the club ride and the heavens opened so didn't bother going out, now glorious sunshine. Never mind, I've just done Exmoor forest, had a quick break and went to do Col de Telegraphe but just couldn't get going so canned that, I'm now going to have to cut the grass. Can't go out tomorrow as my parents are going to visit, so hoping for nice evenings next week.

Thanks for beating me Kip! Got the dreaded 'you've been challenged and beaten' email from bkool.

Geoff, I'm really sorry to hear your news. I'm sure the cycling helps but maybe just not at the flat out speeds the bkool seems to encourage in us all. Maybe you'll need to work back up to your pace slowly once you are fully recovered. I had wondered why you weren't your usual communicative self after Thursdays velo ride.
Hope you recover soon and get some good treatment so you can get back to enjoying your bike soon.

Told I may need an op to strengthen the blood vessel before I can risk putting my blood pressure up again.

Sounds like weeks before I'll be back

Sorry about that Rick, I wasn't sure how I would do as I was at work for 13 hours yesterday installing a phone system.

I knew I wouldn't get near Bill and LB, and didn't spot Bobinski until I had already hit the challenge button. You must of had a strong finish as you took 30 seconds out of me at the end.

Geoff,
I am really sorry to hear that. How frustrating that something that does you so much good health wise and clearly brings you great pleasure should also expose your one physical weakness! Seriously though, here's to a quick recovery.

No worries. All good competition. Glad you didn't destroy my time by too much! I remember finishing strongly, but it think that's because I had Geoff's ghost to keep ahead of. Was out of the saddle and gunning it!

I definitely won't be doing the rerun today, the last one literally gave me a stroke and I'm back in hospital! Bit fed up, but not feeling too bad thankfully. Waiting for an MRI scan and may need to take a few weeks of rest to make sure the bleeding has stopped. Not sure how much the cycling was to blame, I should have warmed up better but it appears I have a weak artery in my brain as it has now leaked twice, so I think it may need some strengthening!

Not great timing, April again, just as the nice weather starts to appear!

Geoff
Man, life is just so unfair sometimes :-( Hope you will have a speedy recovery, and will be able to get back in the saddle soon.

I don't think the bkool had anything to do with it. I blame the sewing machine shopping pressure.
Seriously, get well soon.

Who's up for the 5pm Saturday Chain Gang Velodrome re-run?

As before, search for velodrome using the filters and the password will be "chat".

Thanks Bill. I never had a chance to replace the compact double and when my cadence gets above 80 I burn out quick. I'm working on it. In the mean time I need to get that 53 on. Thanks again.

I enjoyed that Randy. I thought it would be a good chance to practice slip streaming and see how quick we could get the two of us to finish the 50 laps. I think we did pretty well as we had a slip stream going probably 95% of the time.
Yeah, I know what you mean about getting a 53 as I need one too. Thanks for joining me.
