LIVING THE DREAM
I cant think he's going to keep it up. I suspect a Yates episode is on the horizon

He is having a f'ing good year though.
I kind of want him to win on the basis that everyone let him go that day and he has been up there ever since.

He is having a stellar year. It was a little silly letting such a lightweight have a chunk of time. Next two days will see if he has burnt too many matches. If he holds on without losing much time, then it could be his. But since the Giro last year, and team domestique back up he is vulnerable to late surge by a strong team. I truly thought Yates had it last year in the Giro and in one stage late on into 3rd week it had all changed- cycle racing is great to analyse/watch

I kind of get why they let him go though. He’s a classics specialist. One day racer. He’s never contended the GC before so it’s understandable they didn’t chase him down too hard.

It’s going to get interesting now though. They’re all capable of having bad days. Last year was the first time Thomas put together 3 weeks without bad days so who knows. I’d say this is the most open race in years up until this point. I’d love to see Ritchie Porte have a strong few days. But that’s probablt against the odds too. Or anyone else other than Ineos to be honest.

He's such an exciting rider too and isn't scared to work for himself. The stage where there was a split in the peleton, he took up the front and pulled the lead group away from Pinot and friends; didn't see any of the other GC riders putting in the same effort. Sunweb had virtually a whole team still and they didn't even put a domestique up front until the last few KMs (I was pleased they didn't win the sprint that stage as they didn't deserve it).

Today will be interesting. How much did the TT take out of Phillippe yesterday? Will he be able to hold on once he has lost his team today and the big teams put the pressure on? I think all he needs to do is mark GT. He can let everyone else go and be confident that Ineos will pull back other risk riders.

I'll be watching all day today - gonna be a good one :okay:

Too good! At home we don't have cable or satellite, so at a hotel in Juneau on a work trip I stayed up watching Thursday's stage until midnight when I knew I had to be back at the airport at 6 am.

Thomas should of motored passed Allaphalipe soon as he caught him. Yellow is now exposed and showing signs of fatigue. He will be attacked by all those close on GC. Its going to be close for top five, exciting

Can't see GT taking yellow at the moment. Pinot has my money - desperate for a French win, they will have to scrape him off the tarmac before he gives in. Without Froome this year, and the normal GC guys struggling, Pinot can sense it is his tour to lose now.

It's a cracking race. Loving every day :hyper:

Coincidence? If there is any question that every online action is tracked, I got an email about the new Color Wahoo ELEMNT so Went to DC Rainmakers site for the review and now am getting g Ads for the Hammerhead and Garmins...
