I too if buying today from fresh, would go for the Neo. Solely because it's is Uber quiet. There is nothing wrong with my Kickr and will keep it for ages and could quite buy another now I'm a Wahoo fan.

really enjoy the neo but can't use it with bkool and be competitive , 30seconds down in the first minute
If everyone is on a Neo then Bkool would be an option. It would be fair and no fairy dust.

Probably a hard one to really answer, but any strong recommendations from anyone for either the Tacx Neo or the Wahoo Kickr?

I'm seriously thinking of committing to buy one or the other. The extra accuracy sounds nice, as much a being able to put one of my road bikes on without rubbing out the tyre.

But also as @TurboTommy said, I'm a bit suspicious that Bkool racing will really be around for much longer and the urge to give Zwift a try out has become much stronger.
If I was buying I have to consider what I wanted again.

The kickr kicks my ass every time I use it. But the high pitched whine, although not loud, sometimes irritates me. I've not heard a neo going at full chat in person, but the videos I've seen have a different sound.

I bought the kickr with a view to adding a climb to it once it becomes available and I lose enough weight to use it  .

I
Boxers when racing or training hard, I can only hear my cooling fan
I Can only hear the ragged breathing and thumping heartbeat  normally. But in workout sessions, z1 2 or 3, I can wind the cadence up and get a decent speed registered at the required power. This pushes me but the noise niggles sometimes. Just as well there's internet radio

Having ridden both the only distinguishing features in use are noise and movement .they feel pretty much the same except at low cadence high resistance where NEO is stickier and I felt I had to push harder. This fits with users who have used both and measured higher HR for the same power. Strange but isolated and otherwise they feel as dammit the same. NEO is silent. Just drivetrain noise. And then there is the sideways movement which I find pretty much essential but others don’t or use a rocker plate.
