has your new fancy dancy car got that system that stops it if someone walks out in front of it ?
makes me think that when the general riff raff find out that cars stop when they want to cross the road , you will never get out the high street !

It has anti collision, so I would say yes. The nicest feature is the E pedal. You don't need to touch the brakes to stop. A few minutes driving and you automatically gauge when to lift throttle for the car to come to a stop at junctions or behind cars. The other is adaptive cruise which keeps the 2 second saftey marin to the car ahead. If its slows you slow without doing anything. Then there is the auto-steering which keeps you in lane at all time : D

And how is it at handling snow and ice? Not sure these detection things would pick them up especially on cruise control at 60 mph.

its impressive ain't it how tech is progressing !
i can see driverless cars working on motorways but not sure that around town it can happen
i had a pished up woman walk out on me driving and when i stopped ,she smacked her fists down on me bonnet screaming ' what ya effing doin- i'm crossin the effing road
when i pointed out it was a road and not a path she started proper swearing !
once these delightful young ladies find out you have to stop , then i think they will do it just for fun !
don't see a way round that problem yet

The description from Nissan, is if you cant see the lines due to heavy snow/rain etc, then the car can't either so auto steering is disabled. It uses cameras to track white lines on roads. Today for example the car steered for over 2 miles on a by-pass and 60mph carriageway.

This will come as a surprise Lee, once a pedestrian is on the road in front of you, the pedestrian has priority over the vehicle. The vehicle has to give way. This applies to turning corners, if the pedestrian steps, the car has to stop and let me cross. Only once the pedestrian has crossed then vehicle can move off. It also applies to cyclists giving them an element of safety that cars must no turn left whilst there is a cyclist near the vehicle.

Now it doesnt stop the odd idiot wanting to exit the gene pool early, but legally pedestrians have priority on the road

There was a pickup truck driving around here last summer with a snow Plow on the front with a picture of a cruise ship and "tourist scoop" written across it.

whats the point of zebra crossings then eh eh eh eh :okay:

Its a defined area to pass across the road. The UK doesn't have J walking laws, once a pedestrian steps out to cross the road in front, priority changes in favour of the pedestrian, you wouldn't want to mow them down. For insurance and police, if someone literally stepped out in front of your car travelling along the road, and you had no time to stop, you would not be at fault. The pedestrian has been negligent in their actions, but legally pedestrians have priority over vehicles. It should be that way, it offers some protection to all vulnerable road users.

Rule 170 of the Highway Code advises that if a pedestrian has already started to cross the side road into which you’re turning from a main road, you must give way to them
