Me Too! Could someone update my short ride for 35:52 please

Me Too

Worked fine for me, I was actually practicing the flying start technique, to get teh high watts without the resistance that you guys have perfected so well  If there was a problem that is where it would be obvious.

I don't think it's going to be that bad, OK I was bimbling along in the small ring for all the uphills with a couple of lapdogs for company, I reckon on another 90-125Watts (average) over the ride is doable. Some interesting thoughts on tactics while I was pootling. That big climb steepens to ~10% for the last KM, the final climb is nice at no more than 5% , except for the last 100m where it hits 21% I was trying to out sprint the lapdogs, and only just made it as the sim doesn't show the ramp, ....
With my slightly lardy figure, that climb is going to hurt. At 5ft 8 and 83 kg I'm not really built for climbing ... I mean, don't get me wrong, I like mountain rides, it's just that I'm not very fast up them :heat: But then it could be worse ..... there are some guys gonna suffer more than me tomorrow night

Might as well add my Bkool experiences tonight!

Agree to ride with a mate at 7:00 and scheduled the Chicago Waterfront ride that we did in last month's Chaingang. Did this so that we had a good set of ghosts as my mate is new to riding with ghosts.

Got to the Sim and no scheduled ride is showing, just the league rides and group rides.

Had to abort that option. Tried to search for the Chicago ride with the search filter, but all I got was other people riding the route.

So, gave up and selected NC1 from the league list, so that my mate could search on my user name and join the ride. Success at last!

Rode the route at a fairly easy pace, as my mate hasn't been riding much lately. The 3D froze about 3 - 4 times, but each time it restarted again and we reached the end of the ride ok.

This also means I now have a completed run for NC1, but its slower than the time I rode last Saturday by around 5 minutes. Tonight's time was 47.10 and last Saturday was 40.54.

Even my faster time isn't going to impact qualifying in any way. I don't know if you can correct a slower time @BILL S , but that's where I'm at right now.

I may try and ride NC1 again, as my first attempt was my first ride after recovering from a cold, so I'm hoping I can improve on that!

I've added the faster of your two times to the spreadsheet we are using as back up this month due to the BKool technical problems .If you improved on it let me know and I'll update .

Unfortunately a slower time cannot be corrected so you're stuck with that time in the bkool league unless you improve on it of course. Your real result will be on Keiths spreadsheet though so no big deal if you don't want to redo it.

No worries.

I thought that would likely be the case, but as I said I'm not bothering the leaderboard right now!

May do it again if I get the chance, just so I can see if I can improve on my time now that I've recovered.

Over in the ‘meet ups’ thread as well as discussing possible well errr, meet ups.... And generally talking sh!te... we’ve also been trying to design a club kit. I know most of you know this but I thought some, ecspecially the newer guys might not. And seeing as this is the central hub really, I thought I’d try and get everyone here involved.
On a side note if any of the newer guys, or anyone generally who hasn’t yet joined us on a real world ride wants to, please make no mistake, everyone’s welcome! :hugs:
)And obviously no ones obliged to buy the jersey)

So... this is the design we’ve settled on, although nothing is completely set in stone yet.

We still haven’t settled on a club name, we have a couple of contenders so far, and the plan is to use it on the jersey somewhere.

(Virtual reality cycle club)

Full credit goes to @berty bassett and son for this first one. (Any similarities to a certain cycling forums own design are pure coincidence!)

Credit for this second design goes to @bridgy.

Now ideally we just need to get this thing done. So... anyone else want to have a go at a design or suggest a club name please feel free.

Or perhaps suggest ways in which the current designs could be improved?

Let’s get this thing over the line chaps!
Can't believe that design was peoples favourite! I guess I can't blame anyone else though

Still, if that's the majority decision I will get one when we finally push the button on it - will be great to have a team kit when we have our meet-ups

Yeah I think when we’re all wearing them it should be good fun. It’s probably not something I’d jump at if I saw it in a shop. But it’s kind of unique, we should be able to pick eachother out of a crowd, and we can always replace it later on.

Maybe everyone give there preference to whether they prefer ‘the chaingang’ or ‘vr.cc’
