Tommy, we could always test your power up Ditchling:okay: Should show the biggest gains, all things being equal and all that. But only after i get a replacement for my Giant. Not racing you with my frigging commuter ^_^

That's a good idea Bob. Although if I'd known I was going to use it as a benchmark I'd of probably tried harder the first time

well done TT I think u need to do the DD again to confirm
im stuck at 83 did hope to get under 80 but that would mean cutting out the tea and biscuits

Thanks mate. Yeah I definitely could be more disciplined myself. Cake, biscuits, bread and booze are deadly.... the missus will buy a box of little cakes, eat half of one, and leave the rest just sat there, taunting me!

Apologies to the squeamish amongst you! yes those are my big toes. It's fair to say they have taken some abuse over the years....

But I had to post up this pick as I've hit a target I've been aiming at for a far while! 80kg baby!!! :wahhey:

I could prob shave of a bit more body hair to dip below 80 but with this crappy summer we're having I better not! Game of Thrones aint the only place where winters come early...

I had to post this up now ad I've got a weekend of drinking and eating cr@p ahead of me, so this may be as good as it ever gets!

Here's e thinking you were just showing off your expensive scales!
Should we all be very glad that they don't have a mirror finish?

Do you wear winkle pickers.
Looks like it by the shape of your foot thumbs.

I've broken them both on more than one occasion. The 'funnest' one was when I'd just started up on my own and taken on a load of work in a Sainsbury's refurb. Great opportunity for me but everyone had to work at a relentless pace. I broke my toe Sunday going down the stairs at my parents new place in Hastings. My dad forgetting to tell me one of the steps was shorter than the others as some type of ancient anti-burglar device I took a bit of a tumble... That was a tough few weeks to say the least but I somehow blagged my way through.

Although as far as can remember my toes have always been a bit of a weird shape

Geoff,

I know its not the same thing but interesting article nonetheless!

Very interesting @bobinski, thanks for the link. He sounds like a very determined individual, with a quite unique issue to deal with.

Sounds like I should certainly be able to train up to a sustained 220 watts at 140-150 bpm or so, if he can do it at less than 100 bpm. And if I can keep around 70 Kg or less, getting up Ventoux sounds doable. However, I'm not very brave when it comes to health problems, and the possibility of 2+ hours of exertion provoking a stroke that far from home sounds unpleasant.

I've spent the last 10 days having regular bouts of vision disruption after trying to average 17mph on my last run out, so I've been telling myself not to push so hard. Hopefully they'll stop soon, as they have previously, as I'm really missing my cycling. The weather at least is trying to make me feel better by being absolutely pants.

It would help if the doctors could tell me what is causing these visual problems, what caused the strokes, or how much exertion is safe without running the risk of causing another, but they haven't got a clue about any of it and could only say that everything looked fine, apart from all the bleeding and brain damage! :B)

I must check out how he gets on with his ride, I've wanted to cycle up Ventoux since @BILL S first made us do it in the Mountain Goats a few years ago.
