I feel a bit bad even mentioning this now after what happened to you @AAAC 76C, but we were drafting along well when we hit a sudden 12% incline and I got a dead stop and promptly dropped my chain :cursing:

Three attempts later and I eventually got it back on ok but of course by then you were long gone.

Managed to catch up with Bill and we worked together for a bit but I could tell you weren't at your best today Bill.

Bit annoying as I was feeling good working with you AAAC - although my complaints now sound quite petty compared to your completely buggered ride!

I think they should give you the wheels by way of apology....

What happened to you @bridgy
WE had that dead stop thing, well they did.
WE all got back together then you dropped back and you didn't seem to be coming back so I went with the rest.
I had just crested that final climb and I was getting the power on to start the descent and build up my cruise home power an bang CRASH wallop.
FEK!!!

I was still feeling it a bit from Tuesday so I had no chance keeping up with you guys. Happy to finish where I did though and even happier that I won't be doing that one again. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have kept up on that one even on a good day as it wasn't flat and flowing enough for me.

Oddly enough @bridgy that's exactly what went through my mind straight after the FEK moment.
I thought sod my position there's no way I will get those wheels now.

I was watching the two guy's behind me all the way, I perhaps could have got more separation earlier but I didn't know whether you were cruising behind them waiting your moment as you can only see two people back.
When I saw the blue blob travelling towards them I thought is the Pep or Jacob starting late an cutting through the field and I started getting a bit nervous until you caught and passed one of them and your name came onto the board.

I will do that again Saturday now. It's a tough old slog with all that changing op up and down gradients and having to get on top of the gear as you crest help your acceleration down the hill.
All in all, other than the dead stop(s) that was not a bad course but I didn't enjoy it as much as Tuesdays.

Begger.
Just seen that Jacob was top of the pops with and average speed of 50.7 kph and I was averaging 50.8 when I crashed and my average thereafter was likely to be above 50.8 kph so I would have taken the stage.
FEKING PC!

Got to hand it to Jacob though as his power didn't drop much below 350 watts for the whole ride.

It's really good to see CC representation so high in the SummerCup again... when DP completes stage 5, the top 20'will look very healthy - does Jacob consider himself a CycleChatter? If so, 'we're' (royal we) doing very very well.

Next stage we're cupping in the hills so I'm not looking forward to that - @rob01792 is breathing down my neck...
