Geoff Ive just read that syncro-shift has become available for Di2 6870, I will try and update my bikes firmware for a test today.

Having drunk copious amounts of JD/Coke to stave of feeling of a cold, Im now nursing a hangover so will be doing a freeride gently later on

If you have a few hours to kill, today is the day where the Danish Champions Cup takes place.

The top 10 riders (sans Frømling) from our Facebook "league" battle it out on 5 different consecutive stages.

You can follow their struggles from 9AM UK via this YouTube stream:
View: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HPV4uXZOZ6Y&feature=youtu.be
.

This will be a stream "featuring" yours truly and Søren Bonde as commentators. All in Danish AKA yipperish to most of you. :-)

Shimano, keep updating the firmware to improve functionality and add new features, although I have never experienced a better performance once I update, it has always worked flawlessly. The new features like being able to use XT/XTR derailleur combo with 6870 Di2 hydro shifters is a new update a few weeks ago, my new bike has this setup. Syncro-shift is, I believe a one finger function where the front and rear derailleur will simultaneously changed to move you onto the next appropriate ratio, so if you cross chain big/big the next change will alter both front and rear to next nearest ratio.

The other function which has been out since Di2 became available is multi-shift, where you hold the button and the rear derailleur will travel the cass rapidly

Here is the news re Phone firmware updates http://bike.shimano.com/content/sac...mano-advances-wireless-di2-functionality.html
You will need the new bluetooth battery to make it work, I got this on my new build but still choose to plug in my PC and use the SM-PCE1 to update and configure the shifters.

Edit Ive just updated my bikes, the road Di2 6870 updated, I couldn't see anything to do with syncroshift. My MTB/Road Di2 updated the BT battery and then I had option to choose ratios in a setup table. It asked for front chain ring and rear cassette ranges and then listed the overlap ratios. No mention of synro-shift again, I'll go for a ride shortly. So it looks like on first impressions that the battery is the item and needs to be BT version. I'll do some more investigating.

Edit 2 No syncro shift on either bike, I think I need the XT/XTR bluetooth thumbshift adding to my combo bike. Cant be bothered with that at present, hopefully more updates in the future

You used to box didn't you?

Ha! That is true. Hated it though, it was my dads idea of what boys do I think... I discovered I disliked hitting other people about as much as I liked getting hit! I'd recommend the training to anyone trying to get into shape though.

In the spirit of support to my fallen comrades I might fire up bkool this afternoon for a ride. Does the 5pm Saturday jaunt still happen?

I'll be sticking with bkool for a while at least. I'd be highly surprised at this point if bkool manages to compete long term but it suits me for now. I can see why others are going to zwift, particulay those with direct drive drive trainers who were struggling to compete on bkool with their set ups. But I enjoy the races still, and I enjoy the variety of courses. And when the weathers good I'll be out on the road so if I do make the change it'll probably be next winter.

As a side note I am a bit bored with pages of zwift talk. That could just be me so if I'm in the minority please ignore me and carry on. I am aware that we have a great community here and I'm not suggesting people split into different fragments as it would be a real shame. You only have to look at other forums to appreciate this one we've made is quite unique. But it seems bkool is on its knees quite honestly. And from my point of view I want as many people to join the races as possible. This thread seems to be a place for people to discover and then join and contribute to the leagues. But anyone looking at this thread recently will struggle to find the content they came here originally looking for...

Just my two pennies worth...

Bkool, bkool, BKool, BKool
Bkool, BKool, Bkooooollll

Oh, and Scotland and Wales etc..

I went out with some old comrades on Thursday night hence missing the Chaining, apologies, and we were pretty fallen by the end of the night.
A sad sight, a bunch of ex-squaddies in Thier very late 50's/early 60's staggering up the road.
