I'm just kicking myself now for not having a headset, knowing that all of Team Cyclechat would have heard my cries for help and come back to tow me up to 8th place in that first race.
Yeah it would maybe have helped as we were never sure if you had a problem or just needed a hand - would obviously have been silly to sacrifice a rider to drop back to help you if it wasn't going to make a difference anyway.

Doesn't matter though - bask in the glory of having competed and won bronze! We'll be back better and stronger next time!

Thanks Breedon for setting up CG2, i wasn't going to do it again until next week but after Geoff posted, I think you should all do Stage 2 of the Nations Cup as a tribute to the Cyclechat (UK) Team... what choice did i have (especially as i mis-read it as CG2) still, 17 seconds gain is better than loss

I struggled with that today :shy: my ghost was quicker than me, although I was up front with berty bassett for all of 7 seconds ^_^ i could put in my excuses but don't want to infringe on bobinski's copyright.

Breedon I grant you a licence on this occasion only - though I would have thought you might show greater respect for your colleagues today who have buried themselves today for yours and my entertainment and avoid ANY excuse whatsoever.

Where was your jet lag? It didn't seem to slow you down.

I thought the same thing. The first half of the ride felt like I was riding through mud. I got off to see what was causing the problem. I felt like quitting then thought about the dudes doing 3 back to back rides going all out and decided I better finish.

Having a chat with Tenerife organisers, they sometimes ride with the pro's and it's true whilst climbing, they can have heart rates of 120-130bpm whilst our chaps were 160bpm
