Can someone post up a link to the nations cup stages. I'm running around like a lunatic at the moment trying to create a little window of free time

Never mind found em.

OK guys... possible Nations Cup problem here! I have a knee issue and need some immediate care ideas!
I have not ridden since Wednesday due to a head cold, however my left knee has become swollen and painful over the last 48 hours. The issue is inside the left knee but quite low down, about 45 degrees from the knee cap.
From what I can see on the interweb, the pain is situated in the Medial meniscus area of the knee.
I'm starting on anti inflammatory pills but not sure what else to try... any ideas?

What are you like at peddling with one leg?

I rather like that Welsh Whiskey Penderyn.
I'm not a big Whiskey buff though as anything you can't gulp is not safe with me.
1 bottle of wine will do no harm but a bottle of Whiskey would knock me out and it would be waste of good grog (I know, grog is made with Rum).
I've got a couple of bottles of Penderyn and visited their distillery last year. My preference is Irish Whiskey but I'll get any of them. Currently 25 bottles in the house, whiskeys from around the world (English, Welsh, Irish, Czech, Indian, Swedish, scotch, French, US etc..). I have my eye on some Tiawanese next.

Hi DP.. sorry to hear about your woes.. I'm not sure what to suggest as a treatment however, could you have a slight issue with bike set-up which is causing problems with knee alignment during pedalling? Now you've been stopped a few days, your knee is attempting to heal? Just a thought?

I'm always having problems with my right knee and it only flairs up when I'm not cycling regularly. When on holiday (and not cycling), it gives me pain but then clears up after a few days..

Hope it fixes soon.
That's a good point, its the rest which the knee may be responding to. Its possible that the cleat position has changed as I replaced the old ones about 2 months ago. If this was out a tiny bit this may be causing the issue very gradually.
Edit. Another clue may be that the pain is only on leg extension beyond the angle that my leg would make on the bike. It probably indicates that the cleat has been pushing the knee into a slightly different position.

This may be ITB which as you all know now arises from weak glutes causing imbalance in hip movement straining ITB as it moves down into knee joint. Enters low down on side. ITB not inflamed by cycling cause leg doesn't extend enough which is why cycling-though not out of saddle sprinting- doesn't cause pain. Though knee may react if already inflamed. What causes inflammation is apparently walking because your leg extends so time off bike walking may be revealing an ITB issue. Ice pack and anti inflammatory for now perhaps and I can recommend some stretches but only AFTER you have warmed up on bike.
Hope this helps.

It has to be the good old fashion R.I.C.E treatment I'm afraid.
Rest
Ice
Compression
Elevation

I hope you understand the Latin of your avatar. Eroidstays. ( I hope the Danes and Spanish don't understand pig latin)

Seriously, on a meniscus tear I had, a 7 day course of steroids did the trick.

Does that mean I need curry and beer to go with it?
