Did everyone hear my chat as they joined the session, or was I talking to myself?

I turned off the mic as soon as the ride started, you didn't want to hear me panting away ...

Geoff

I heard a voice through my speakers - wasnt the clearest as the volume was low but it certainly was working - no mic set-up at this end to reply!

Did your session not upload Bill? Not showing in the league table.

How the hell do you get 300W Downhill?!? You're going to set your house on fire.

And Bill did BKool send you a new fan cover when you started getting the fan rub? Mine has just started a but now. I'll loosen the cover for now.

Yeah, Bkool sent the cover to Wiggle and they sent it to me. Problem gone. While I was waiting I just had the original cover tie wrapped to the outside for safety and that was fine too.

No, my fiddling with my weight this morning put a stop to that. I went down to 77kg so I thought I'd have a go at moving up a level. When I tried it my legs said "no chance" and I gave up yet again.

I have no idea how you can hold that, 300 W+ downhill. I tried pretty hard but I think I struggled to get much above 200W downhill. 300 W uphill is hard but manageable! not sure my bkool is all that well calibrated tbh... or maybe i was just totally fooked after the climb!

Same here. Left me for dead on the downhill sections too and I went from being 10 seconds behind to 20 seconds behind in the space of about 10 seconds. Mind you, I was only good for about 200w on the downhills.

Haha! I've put your name forward for a drugs test Mr Geoff Armstrong! You have reached dizzying heights of fitness! But I love it! It really spurs me on to improve and work harder! I am starting to inject running sessions too now, been out twice, so not sure if that will help or hinder my bike performances. Soon see! But I guarantee, I will spend the majority of tomorrow, at work, daydreaming about which route to try tomorrow evening. Tempted to retry this evenings route, see if I can put in a better time. Who knows? Still got Bill's brutal Goat run to put in yet....not looking forward to that evil beast either.

Hello folks, newbie to the forums here, excited to find an active UK bunch of BKool users. I've had the "classic" (I think that's polite for "old"?) trainer for a year or so but haven't been great at using it...

I'd love to take part in some of your rides. Unfortunately I think I'll struggle with joining the Thursday night group ride as I'm already double-booked those nights, but I'll do my best to catch up at other times. I'd also like a chance to join the Mountain Goats if that was acceptable?

If so, how can I go about joining? Do I just submit a request to the league(s) from BKool's site?

Cheers and Happy New Year,
Simon

Hi Simon,
To join the Mountain Goats just submit the request on the Bkool site and I'll accept it straight away. The first ride is active now so your timing is spot on. The Thursday night rides can be done at any time so you could join that league too and still be in the results.

Embarrassed
over 3 minutes down on everyone else. :banghead:

All worked perfectly for the first time though!
There you go I said I had to go yet, 24.23  so don't beat yourself up.
I will never be competition to most riders as I'm always running, I did 8 miles yesterday, it's my thing because I'm quite good at it  and cycling is just cross training.

Btw I cleaned the mess on the road you lot left.

Tim P is a friend of mine, he got a bkool at the same time as me ( ie very recently), and I suggested he join the group. I did say he should confirm his identity on here, but I know he's away now until next week so maybe he ran out of time! please do accept him though

Oh dear, not sure what happened there. I accepted Tim onto the Thursday Night CC Group last night, but there is still no sign of him showing up! Looks like another Bkool bug, I'm afraid.

Perhaps he can re-join when he gets back, and we'll try again.

It would be good if he can comment here, we only really want members who are active here, otherwise there's not much point.

fair enough, I will talk to him when he's back. there seems to be a lot of bkool bugs out there.... the whole system has a lot to offer, but it's so damn frustrating , not user friendly at all! I worry for them when Zwift comes along- if Zwift gets it right, game over for bkool I feel... comments anyone?

I'm on the zwift beta, They are sorting lots of problems out, before it is released, but it's very different to bkool, (or should I say it's just the 3d part)
I have my problems when using bkool on the iPad, PC is pretty much trouble free, but it is a bit faffy. Perhaps updates will sort this. I think the zwift release may prompt bkool to get sorted a it quicker. A good feature of zwift is you use it on a PC but you can use iPhone to control and view stats etc whilst riding.

Agreed.
With The Goats I'll probably just delete any members who after a month have never posted here or done a stage ride. If they really want to they can easily re-join.
