Searching for it gives 1960 as the first year of publication, with the ninth impression(edition?) being in 1994, and 2012!
I'd say from that picture, you're 80's "guess" is correct.
I've seen that book cover, or very similar to it, but it's not available in the local libraries. At over 2,000,000 copies sold, it's certainly a popular book on home brewing.

That was the cover of the edition I had..
I mentioned to Mrs M about having a go again and I got the LOOK.. that ONE.
She is right though...
I've enough going on in life just now.

Off to log...

Two million copies sold, still a popular book though.
She thought you'd lost your mind, or she remembers what it was like last time! Did you return the look, in case she needs it again.
"Tornado Toodles" and her younger relative.

Much to do.

Morning all :hello:
Being of a certain age, I would have said 'Party time' a few(?) years ago.
Now ? Kick off yer shoes and have a cuppa:cuppa:
Owdo
What's wrong with party time now. Taking to the floor and showing yer moves off...
Nowt wrong with a cuppa, along with a slice o'cake.

She might need it!
Use a mirror...

Let them look after the grandkids, you sit down, put yer feet up and relax.
Maybe have a snooze even!

Sit down?
I had to throw a (soft) ball all over the place so Toodles could throw it back at me, the giggles when I got hit with it..
I know who was exhausted after it then the insistence I keep playing..
she's nuts, but great fun...
I get two days to recover before it all starts again.
I forgot I have a wine kit in the garage,
I must look it out,
I got it for a pressie.

I even tidied up some things in the garden and then had a look at my 'what's been done in the garden' notebook so a few remainders in the calendar, I might start some stuff a couple of weeks earlier this year. Sunflowers and peas, sweet peas I'll wait and see but one of the local nurseries does a 10-pack of healthy-sized seedlings at the end of Feb, I'll check them out again , reasonably priced.
I have to decide what annuals to grow...
Beetroot wasn't a success last year but in previous years I got plenty to pickle.
One of the German supermarkets does lovely-sized beetroot to pickle....
quality is very good.
I cut down on monthly records and much easier today.
Haven't logged yet so off to tidy it all up.

Why not?
Toodles keeping you busy whilst using you for target practice. Is her aim improving any?
Couldn't you have done it from your chair. You'd not have needed to run around, and, you'd have presented/made an easier target.
Were her parents as bad when her age...
Two days enough time for you...
Part of what's needed already to hand!
Would you get "that look" for using a pressie?

Is there much to tidy up after the recent weather, the wind, rain and cold days.
Change the calendar, then the remainders will go along with it.
Small onions, if you're planning on pickling!
No spuds, no carrots, or other root veg this year? Flowers look good I suppose.
Be wary of those German supermarkets, one is planning on introducing a £10 entry fee.
Shorthand now in use, less writing required.
You'll have done the days logging by the time this is posted.

Owdo to those out there from those on here.
Overcast but dry start to the day. Appears to be warming for snow.

I saw the entry fee thing, they can stick that idea up the Kaiser Pass
Think it might be one of those shops that scan everything as you basket it BUT..

Parents? I can only talk for one..
I can't remember any perpetual motion...
If I do sit, she takes me away from the chair, not daft this lil one..

Out a wee round trip earlier, there was plenty of tree damage around, and there was a windfall (literally) for wood-burning stove owners.
Made our way back, and grabbed a Maccys cafe en route..
Spent a couple of hours trying to assemble something, fiddly no the word..
Abandoned to tomorrow.
I got a strange phone number yesterday so off to Google but it was a legit one..
poor day when strange numbers make you wary.
I tried pickling onions many moons ago, I prefer the harsher acetic acid type onions, cheaper to buy jars of them....

Wouldn't be too bad if it got you a decent discount on yer shopping, but I doubt it. And if it works for one...

Maybe it skipped a generation...
Build a giant, Toodles sized "hamster wheel". Give her somewhere to run whilst staying in the same spot. Be prepared to show her how she should be using it, or using it with her.
She'll do well at school, especially the sports day then.

Not seen many down round these parts. Even in open areas. The only person I knew that took fallen trees for a wood fire, did so by clearing those blocking paths when they fell.
Were the stop worth it, or were it to get you ready for the fiddling ahead. You can't abandon it to tomorrow! You'll not sleep tonight.
Maybe they were checking you were in, and they're making their way northwards with the cheques. There were only one winner on Wednesday!
Always wary of calls from odd numbers, especially those that don't leave any message saying why they called.
Didn't turn out too well? Maybe increase the scale of the operation to bring the costs down a bit.

Anything to make a buck....or two.
Best shops for getting 'craft' ales....
Mrs M would be verwustet if she stopped going to either of them...

I got it going, I might have to gently sand a couple of bits to enable them to 'fit', gentle use of pliers do for the top bits
His wires are longer than mine...
same ones were ordered.....
These

Little add-ons are slowly appearing...
Batteries are a worry, although a couple of variants you can screw down (I printed one)...

The girl called back, it was a national chemist chain to rearrange something but I generally say I will call the number I have for them and deal with it. First asking 'did your lot just call me?'
I still reckon customer lists are being half-inched for companies and sold off esp phones and other services. I had a call from EE just before the last renewal time and I called them back, it had been a genuine one but who knows....they could still have all my details and be ready to scam me..
Try hard to avoid these circumstances..

I'm playing 'spot the black boots' on a telly game just now..
Ref, ass refs have them and possible one player...

Self scan, fewer staff required, save money...
Entry Fee, make money...
I'll stick to using cash, the system probably won't know what to do.
Maybe she could save half of it by leaving you outside. Or just stop using the one that charges for entry.

They look like larger nano bugs, albeit homemade. Has Toodles seen it yet. If not, there'll be either another "WOW" moment or she'll be running and hiding from it.
CR2032 battery required/used?
Where'd you get the idea to have a go at them.

I've used physical chemists/pharmacies only. Not willing to trust an online one if things go wrong.
I had a second number I gave out if I didn't quite trust the company, but they required a phone number.
I'm wary of any call from EE, given their service centres have been hacked at least ten times since they started up. Their Welsh data centres are main routes for people wishing to hide behind a real number.
If I'm not willing to trust the person on the other end, I'll phone on a number I know to genuine. They may, like you say, have all your details.

Any luck on this "spot the black boots" game.

Nah, no player had any....
the old days are gone for flashy 'plastic' ones....

Those stores are successful because they use their staff wisely, how many do you see walking around like in the bigger supermarkets?

I did give them my number at the source as a way to contact me, so I saved myself a journey and if a problem, block the number.
Brekkie Monday then back for workpeople.....
