Noticed the late night activity, but thought you were just settling down doing other stuff.
The foam is usually glued onto the board, to hold it in place during assembly. May not come away easily.
If it's in use don't stop using just to check.

When complete, how many will that be at The Towers.
Another!

We've the mist making a return here, 1/4 mile at best.

Will you be sharing these supplies if things start running low next week
Stay safe, and remember...

Sharing my liquid supplies? absolutely not..
each drop is valuable...

Antennas? jeez, I dunno..
if I make it, then another for youngest Mhor is needed.....
I got aluminium welding rods tonight, 2.4mm dia for a job that takes 2mm dia.....
guess I'll be gouging.....

been a damp evening, now 4.6mm

Thought you'd have yer scruples...
Agreed.

What killed the cat question, but where/how are you planning on doing the welding for your own?
Could he not watch you then "replay" what you did to make his.
These rods expensive, £2.75, £5?

Damp, but not as damp as up near you.

I'm not welding, they are used as antenna parts (elements)..
Normally you get the measurements. See video below
Fit them, cut to the size needed.
in a Yagi (think TV antenna), you have to trim the Driven element to an acceptable SWR and voila......
You can even use old measuring tape,
as this Toob video shows

not handy if too windy...

I made a donation of a couple of quid for 5....

PS I got taught welding, arc, gas, aluminium etc in...

1969..
Think I might have forgotten it all

Evening
Sat on the Naughty Step should soon stop that.
Anything odd found on yer tree?

The subject I am researching has a very common Highland name, both parts. I have quite a bit to search yet in the internet archive, a little at a time I think.
Not my side of the tree..
I should be charging by the hour.....one chilled can or bottle per hour should be fair recompense..

I'd spin it out though

Why aluminium welding rods, not steel?
Suppose you trim one just a bit too short, replace or carry on. It's one use I'd not considered for welding rods before. Can I presume you're using it inside only. The welding rods will crumble if they get wet.

One way of getting them.

Further tales of the unexpected jobs from yerself...

Stewart!
There's always an unexpected find, someone/something that wasn't mentioned, and lost to the mists of time. Then someone comes along and finds it.
Even charging per session(Take a break every two hours) you'd never drink it all. Give it a go, they may succumb to your payment method.

Does that mean you have most of it done then?

Aluminium ones are just metal, no flux...
If trimmed too short, replace and try again...snip 1 or 2 mms at a time.

No jobs today..

Solved nothing else..
I've exhausted every other line except one bloke
trying to find a death and a marriage, I think my library has access to one of the main ones so must pop in and ask...
pay the council plenty..
Off to log up...

Libby app is great, book, audiobooks and mags to read..

Nothing to fall apart when it gets wet then.
Millimetre perfect, that's sensitive.

Don't let on, they may withhold payment from you...
There's a library edition of ancestry available, and most have findmypast as well. Think findmypast has a link to getting birth/marriage/death records.
Get summat back on yer money?
Have fun...

Not a fan of the electronic books that can be borrowed, despite them trying to push them onto users. Think there's a dozen different ones currently in use in the local libraries. All have access to different things, with no outright winner.

Got some of the big flower pansies which seem to be all small flowers available recently..
Shame as I did grow my own last autumn for winter...

I have three Kindles, I keep inheriting..
I like prowling occasionally the big river 99p book deals.....
I have a pile of books to read yet.

Mind you on books, I've two on the go and I'm convinced AI has had a part in them,
they follow the same pattern in timeline as if someone has AI'ed facts about a certain subject then has just expanded on it.
One was given to me to read and TBH it's just a rehash of stuff I know and have read enough about (aliens)..
I tend to dive deep into certain subjects and return occasionally,
this year (and part of last) was and is Mallory and Irvine...
the lovely Amelia Earhart is another...
treasure was a fave many moons ago...
just now on the Toob, mid west NA stuff, like the Trek Planner etc..

Temp fell to 0.2c earlier, now just 4.7c but threatening to go below for the next few nights, a -4c mentioned and yellow snow and ice warning, we are prepared now....
We have access to magazines, papers through the app so handy but best read on the tablet, the publisher gets something for it esp if I wouldn't buy it tbh...
as i say getting something back for the council tax..
Lazy day as beeping smoke thing sorted (I hope)

It be Sunday, a day of rest...
Mercy mission for supplies. These Ramen Noodles any good, or were it the price that got you getting them.
Cream and raspberry tart thing was it that good that it made you forget what it were. Coffee okay?
Not grown this year by yerssen.
Yer creativity coming to the fore again I see. Was that as high as supplies let you go, or as high as you dared.

I've one I inherited. Aside from charging it to see what were on it no real use made.
Proper books or electronic ones from the big river place.

On the aliens front, a load of modern books seem to be rewritten copies of earlier von Daniken works.
Couldn't get into that book on the attempt on Everest by plane. Started reading it, never finished it.
Fred got drunk, misread the compass and it went wrong from there...
Speculation a few years ago that their bodies had been found, in unmarked graves. Story just died away though.

I'm waiting to see if they're correct this week. Promises of snow for the last two weeks came to nowt. Be careful of that yellow snow!
Ready to batten down the hatches and stay warm and safe, best way to be.
You ever buy the book after borrowing it, just so you have a copy.
Dying battery(ies) and you smothered it with a pillow.

Maurice Wilson..
I admire the man for what he believed in and after what he suffered in WW1 and his travels and eventual demise, was it the 1935 expedition who found his body? he got pretty high for someone with no climbing experience, there was an old tent discovered at 8500m (?) which was thought to be his but most folk attributed it to the 'did it happen ? Russki expedition of 75?'
anyway, he surpassed expectations, sad thing was the reluctance of help from the Mountaineering establishment back in the UK, more likely as he wasn't one of the 'chaps'...
Having read and listened to an awful lot of Everest stuff, (Evereast) apparently George Everest pronounced his name as in the brackets, you only have to listen and read some of the s***e written etc about Everest....
There is video of the HF antenna breaking on their last take off, some present search stuff just looks shady...
That may tie in with the photo of them after being captured by the japs, one documentary took the photograph and said it was 99 per cent them..
It turned out it had been in a guide(?) book a couple of years before they flew...
I emptied my 'library' before I moved and donated them to a charity shop and kept some..
gave my climbing books to ex workmate..
