amazing what you find on your travels...


Some hooray Henrys have been shooting pheasants about 10 miles from where i live. They are staying in a hotel and 2 of the hunters have parked helicopters in a field beside the hotel..

I was heading down a hill nearby and saw it land so about turn and back to 'nosey', it was delivering bits to repair a nearby pylon...it was worth the nosey.

and give it ' Ok ya'....

I'm fascinated more by 'copters than aircraft but the 'Jesus Nut' kinda puts me off;)

They cost a hell of a lot to service. The whole helicopter and engine has to be taken apart and tested. It takes weeks and costs around £25,000.

Comprehensive maintenance schedules and no corners cut in all aviation which shows in the safety records...
when you see how many planes/copters are in the skies at any given time.....it's amazing
