Good morning, sitting down having a cup of strong coffee, contemplating the fact that l have just paid 920 euros for a delivery of 1000 L heating oil.
Whats the betting that we have the mildest winter on record ^_^

Brrrr..............it's a bit nippy out. Probably better walking rather than cycling weather unless it warms up a fair bit.
Get the donder done and dusted.

I thought unheimlich meant like, totally bogus dude (bogus in the sense Keanu Reeves uses it in Bill & Ted).

That makes more sense. Like a lot of German words there are several different ways to translate it into English. There seems to be a wider range of words in English overall, although there are a couple of German words that you can't translate.

"Gespannt" is a classic: it means "apprehensive" but in a generally positive way" and it can mean "Excited" but conveys a bit less emotion that you'd expect to have, perhaps "quietly excited" although even that's a bit too much. It's a very subtle meaning.

This is highly ironic, because German doesn't actually have a translation for "subtle".
