Not just the countryside. We live beside the sea with a lot of trees around the building containing a rookery. It's gulls and rooks we have running up and down our roof - and the beggars sound like they're wearing hob nailed boots. Still, we wouldn't change it.

I wouldn't move on a permanent basis as I just don't think I could take the heat in the summer. Even next week it will be just about what I can take - 29/30c.

Nocturnal creature then. Bet there is some interesting wildlife around at that time

Your right. I can hear all sorts of birds early in the morning. Even in the middle of the night we have owls hopping all over the bloody roof, squirrels dropping hazel nuts on rhe roof and god knows what else. Oh the joys of the countryside.

You could try camping in the countryside and have the little creatures crawling all over you

Squirrels are vermin and cause thousands of pounds worth of damage. In have dealt with them before.

Deer, bats Foxes, Cows, Geese and the odd barn owl or two.

We get a bat flying round the back garden when it get. dusk. Saw 2 badgers on different occasions during the last 2 weeks, clipped one back in the spring it carried on and there was no damage to the car. Numerous foxes, and even muntjac deer sometimes by the roadside. The odd barn owl and I saw a tawny recently.

Most of the wildlife around here seems to be on my bloody roof. (Accept foxes and badgers) of course.

I saw a cow running down the canal towpath in abingdon when I was staying with my uncle and aunt decades ago. I was only 10 at the time. The cow had run away from the local abattoir qnd the farmer was chasing it.

We came across a herd of the bloody things in the road yesterday on the way back from our ride. Admittedly the farmer was moving them from one field to another one 400 yards down the road.
