It's amazing the work that must go into some of them - the standard of finish is so good these days. A bit different from years ago when some would be in almost the same condition as when they were working. A mention was made of one of the Sentinel steam waggons which used to only attend the show if it wasn't needed for a job (it wasn't retired until 1980).Its good to see how popular old steamies are.

There doesn't seem to be room for a 'patina' on antique cars certainly, it's showroom nick or as close as possible. If it was like a bit of early furniture it would be highly suspicious because of how unworn it looked. My bike...that certainly has patina. (Some might say 'dirt' but I'm sticking to 'genuine')
