Man United & Celtic (and their fans) have a long standing history/relationship.

There have been many 'friendlies' played.

Interestingly (or not) it all goes back to religion.

In the earlier days & right up to the 70's & early 80's Celtic & United fans & Clubs were always Catholic's & Rangers & Man City were Proddies.

It's all been diluted considerably in Manchester but still persists *obviously* in Glasgow.

Same went for Liverpool & Everton, this is why you find so many Irish on the plane/ferry to watch football in Manchester or Liverpool (that & of course the Prem standard is much higher than anything across the sea).
