Must admit I missed a quite a bit of CC over the hols due to one thing and another. Have been thinking of the Whyte because I still have one of his original Marin bikes before he started his own brand, an East Peak full susser.. good cross country bike in its time... Can't do proper off road now, my balance is too shot for that but want a good half way point machine..:smile:
Was the East Peak one of those with the adjustable rear suspension?

I had a Alpine Trail, it was a right giggle blasting downhill on it.

Yep, had the air shock... still works well actually, was the bike I first started riding again when I started back riding after my stroke... my road bike was on 18mm's so the 60mm ones on it were a little more forgiving of my, ahem, 'weaving style'...:whistle:

Very few occasions these days where you are more than a day away from a delivery or from going off to buy a new item from a open all week store so no, I only have spares when I'm expecting to need it soon, unforeseen events involve just a change of ride for the day :smile:
