Evening, hey @Saluki, don't get down about it...owners who can't look after a dog shouldn't then have a dog and pay someone else to look after it...same as kids. ;) :hugs:

Good ride, don't know if I have enough gumption left to do a report tonight.. I might stay awake long enough... anyway, coffee!! :cuppa:

I've had a horrible day. One of the dogs I walk got loose and ran away. I have spent 6 hours and 20 minutes looking for the little bugger when the owners came home and yelled at me. I called the Norwich and S. Norfolk dog wardens, I went in all the shops and asked, I went to the vet and drove to the local dog rescue place in case he'd been handed in. I walked miles and miles and miles looking and calling. I drove over 30 miles around and around looking. I called hubby to come and help and another dog walker pal of mine came to help. There were 4 of us looking on foot, bike and car at one point.

The little sod came back home twice and then ran off again when some person trying to be helpful made a grab and him and he ran hell for leather in the opposite direction. We left the garden gate open so he could get back in and through the dog flap. When the owners came home they shut the gate and refused to open it while they went to "look properly".
The man owner yelled that it was my fault that the dog has no road sense and that it was my fault that his dog isn't trained. It certainly isn't my fault that he hasn't trained his dog.
In the end I had to come home to get Ken to dialysis and our helping friend needed to get back for his insulin. Apparently I have now just deserted them for stupid reasons. I hate my job, I really really hate it.

I have had 2 massive mugs of tea, a plate of chips and half a glass of wine. I still feel wretched. I suppose that I had better turn my phone on in a min and see what sort of tirade is waiting for me. The battery died while I was out searching for that dog. There is no network there so the phone continually searches and runs the battery flat very quickly.

On automatic its constantly searching for the strongest signal. Even if you were stood next to a mast it'd be searching for a stronger signal.

The hound has been found! He was found soon after I had to leave and I've only just got the text as I turned my phone on. Thank heavens. He just decided that it was tea time and went home. Found waiting by the closed and locked gate so he couldn't go in and use his dog flap.
One less wthing to worry about.

Phew! I sympathise, Saluki. But now at least you can sleep soundly tonight. Forget about badly trained humans and worse-trained dogs.....

We've got one more than the normal quota of dogs with us this evening, totally unconnected. We're looking after a (very fat) retriever for a week whilst the owner goes to Denmark. It may not be so fat by the time we hand it back.........

Goodnight all. Long day........
