Went for a 50km ride today, cooler temps plus the weight of the seasonal cycling gear made it a bit of a slower and harder ride than I had anticipated.

Last ride over here in warm sunny conditions. Managed a last 57 windy miles.
So that was 10 consecutive days of riding with a total of 602 miles.
No more mileage like that till I am back here next March.

Sorry to see that you holiday has ended. I hope that it has given you warm memories that will help you through the winter. We reached the middle of our stay today so have 3.5 weeks left. We are looking forward to 31/10 here as they are bonkers for fireworks so it should be good.

Afternoon all.
I'm back after being out all day plus a 25 mile ride.
Didn't quite go as planned and it was so slow it hurt my knees quite a bit.
I tanked it home, 10 miles in 50 mins (believe me, that's good for me!)
I've had a hot bath and am going to cook tea shortly as hubby will be up soon after his night shift

That reminded me of being here about 3 years ago when it looked like the Greek Cypriots and the Turks were going to go to war over the off-shore gas finds. As we watched the TV news in the village taverna the thought of being stuck on the island made us sick with happiness

We were staying in the mountains that year.
We were worried for a nanosecond - I suppose living in NI has the effect of making one used to bombs and bullets!

Evening all.
Back from World Earthcache day. I am knackered. 10km of sandy walking is a lot harder work than 10km of road cycling. I ache in places that I didn't know that I had. Even the Jack Russell is knackered. Hubster decided to head back after about 800 yards and found a cafe. I soldiered on with nothing but a chuppa chup lolly and a mint imperial to sustain me. I really wish that I hadn't forgotten breakfast today.
Now I have tea, I have chicken noodle soup and dry socks. My feet have been soaking since about 2pm and I didn't get my shoes and socks off until 7pm. They are all warm now, which is rather lovely.
The chap we are swapping homes with has had his steering rack go and can we leave it to the 27th October as he cannot afford his half of the van rental. We said that we couldn't as the new tenancy start is the 20th and that is now set in stone as we have both had letters from various landlords stating that the old tenancies finish on the 19th Oct and new ones start on the 20th. These letters are legally binding. We'll get the van rental and he can pay us back on the 27th (fat chance but still). It's only £135 for the weekend so I reckon that we can cope with that. We are definitely moving on the 18th come hell or high
