These Cypriot weather reports are getting very samey @Blue , aren't you getting tired of it being sunny and warm, day in day out yet? ;)
Errrr, NO!!!

This must be our 10th year here and we have never yet brought a coat or umbrella. We love the fact that when it rains it rains hard then dries up in an instant. Over the last few years we have seen some spectacular storms, floods even, but you can just sit and watch then walk on in your sandals!!

No, you were tied to the back of it.
George Clooney and wedding party arriving apparently.

Do you take a complete break from cycling as well @Blue or do you rent one locally for a bit of a potter?
Thus far it's always been a complete break. However, last year a Cypriot man we know mentioned he had a Mtb I could borrow and he now knows we are on the island so if I get talking to him I'll see if that's still a goer - I brought my bibs, top and mitts this year just in case. They also have a type of Boris bike here and I may have a punt on one of them to see what they are like just to see a bit more of the city than I usually see on foot. I always hike into the hills, both on & off road every day in Oct as an alternative exercise so that will def get underway this week as I like to explore the little villages - Mrs B lies in the sun doing her OU work while I hit the trails so it works out quite well.

Tourism in the only real industry on the island but it is all based on the coast. However, the Cypriots live in the hills so that's where you see the real Cyprus and get a chance to speak a little bit of Greek.

Now I see, I don't think I've ever watched one of his films.

I've been on a boat in Venice, not a gondola though the rip off merchants!

Ah, the memories though. We toured Italy for our honeymoon and had 'O sole mio' sung to us while on a gondola in Venice and we feel it was worth the money.

We were on holiday in Austria about 18 years ago and went on a day trip to Venice.

At that time they were charging £40 for half an hour in a gondola.

We had a boat tour when we first got there then wandered round for a few hours.

During the day it was heaving and I had a little bit of a disagreement with a German bloke who was being a knob.

At the end when we were going home the guide told us it was always like that, and Venice was much better at night when the day trippers had gone home.

Oh dear, not good. I have had a disagreement with a German tourist too. However, I have also met many, many great German tourists so I would give any nobber the bums rush.

We got married in September so the numbers were lower, but, yes, it was nicer at night. We were lucky with the boat trip because our tour organised a half price deal so it didn't seem so bad.

I go over to Germany a few times a year for work and they usually are really sound people, I always have a good time.

Did you sit in St Marks? We ended up in a bar a few streets away near the grand canal, and even there it was something like £6 for a small bottle of beer.

I've been getting subtle nudges about going again for the past few years, luckily they're subtle enough for me to pretend I've missed them.
