I'm so sorry to hear your newsHaven't really felt up to posting this until today, but here goes. My mum was taken ill over new year with what was 1st thought to be flu, then a water infection, then a gall bladder infection, but has been diagnosed as burkitt lymphoma, one of the rarest blood cancers you can get. She has now been in Birmingham for a week, beginning the long battle of treatment that is ahead. My cycling may get curtailed considerably over the coming months, with the travelling over to see her, but I still aim to get out when time allows, if only to de-stress a bit

Did you warm your hands before starting?Evening , just in from milking , I think 2 hours of milking is the equivalent of half hour on the bike. Its been a lovely day , long overdue.
What sort of rabbits did she keep? Never seen one that laid eggs! When my mother was a child her parents kept chickens, ducks, rabbits to eat and for the eggs. And her grandmother had a farm that she used to visit.
What County? Both my parents came from what is now the ROI, but the whole island was under British rule at the time that they were born. However, many of my holidays were spent in the ROI and we were known as "the black Northerners"!!
Why?I have just watched the weather for the week here on bbc wales. Yep you've guessed it. and for the whole week. Minus 2 tomorrow. Possible snow on high ground. so I will be making cake and dringking lots of coffee all week. Cheers everyoneI surrender

Odd, three on here with family connections to farming in Ireland.
What County?
Why?
But you saidChickens laid the eggs classic not the rabbits.
It can be fun in the snow!I am not even going to try to get out on my bike or even think about it for a while.
But you said
"When my mother was a child her parents kept chickens, ducks, rabbits to eat and for the eggs."
We wear gloves , so no warm handsDid you warm your hands before starting?
