Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I shall only do an hour and a half tomorrow. Then I need to find 3 hours worth of something to watch again the day after. As I shall be alternating for the next 7 days, I need to find a lot of programmes. Given that I don't tend to watch much, this is going to get interesting!
How about silent witness. Part 1 was on last night. Part 2 is on tonight. You can download it from the bbciplayer. Thats 2 bours.
then there is hinterland. I think its a crime drama. Thats on sunday I think again on bbc1. That can be downloaded as well.
then you have midsumer murders. Not sure what day that's on though.

Quite like Silent Witness, but never get to watch it due to Mr Hop not liking it. So that is one for the list, ty WD
I'll pass on Midsomer Slaughter. Seen enough of that over the years!
Guess I'll need to trawl iplayer to see what is still on there

Are you plugging the bridge by any chance colin. ? What's it about. ?
I'm a bit late getting into the various Scandinavian crime series. I watched The Killing on DVD before Christmas and enjoyed that so I decided to catch up on the others.

I spotted that the first series of The Bridge was on while I was away for Christmas so I recorded it and am watching it every night. I have only watched the first 3 of the 10 episodes SO NO SPOILERS PLEASE!

The plot of the first series is generally that a nasty serial killer is carrying out a series of grisly killings to publicise his particular political views. A Swedish policewoman and a Danish policeman are heading the investigation ... The woman is an interesting character. She has some sort of autism or other similar disorder, so she finds it hard to understand other people's emotions, and consequently behaves in a way that they find disturbing.

I like the style of these programmes, which feel different to British TV shows. They are like a modern Scandinavian take on our old Prime Suspect series.

They are subtitled rather than dubbed, which I prefer.

The more you try the better you will get at reading without missing too much action.

Mrs Blue is hearing impaired so I have many years of subtitle reading and don't mind it at all now. The shows like The Bridge are worth the effort.

I quite like subtitles on things. They don't bother me at all.
