Way back in the 1970s, we used to have a games teacher who insisted that all boys get in the communal shower after rugby 'to get all that mud off'. Of course he used to stand and supervise to make sure that the washing was done properly. I'm not sure such intense supervision would be considered acceptable these days ...

I doubt that very much. A lot of what went on would be totally unnaceptable these day and quite rightly so. But it was acceptable back in the day.

I'm here. For a little while, but I'll be ready for bed soon.We spent all day out at the Manchester Xmas markets, and then did a couple of hours work furnishing the bedroom - we have radiators fitted now, and a sofa and the bed frame in place. Looking more and more like a room every day!

We're half-watching a fairly terrible dramatisation of the Bible on Channel 5. It's sponsored by "Spring Harvest", which is apparently a modern happy clappy sort of church, but it means that at every ad break, I think about muesli...

That's why I record all shows that I watch on commercial channels, and skip the ads on playback! (It saves 25-30% of the time as well as my brain cells.)
