I work for a transformer manufacturer, I'm in charge of all the coil winding in our Leicester plant. Me and my team wind, bend and bash copper and aluminium wire. Given that there can be up to 80kV across one of our coils we have to be very careful, if a coil fails it can fail explosively. Fun work, quite physical and challenging, but it beats sitting at a desk with a spread sheet or attending endless meetings which is what I did as a Project Manager in a previous job.
