Hope you feel better soon NT :hugs:

Shame about the electric trike but would you get as much pleasure from buying one as making your own?
The plan changed from 'something for the fun of the open road' to 'something to reduce the cost of running about doing small local jobs'. Cost has become the bigger issue then the 'fun' aspect.
I am concerned about the cost of all the parts I need to buy, but worse is the cost of getting it inspected, approved, insured, and fitted with decent batteries. It feels like I can almost buy a Renault Twizy for those costs alone, except that it has next to no cargo capacity.

Also, to make it really useful (and starting with a blank sheet of paper) I should forget the trike layout and nice wire wheels and go for a conventional four wheel layout with big strong steel wheels. Three to four wheels increases the cost of inspection too!

Cold and sunny here with a little cloud.

I have had a rotten headache all day, made worse by suddenly getting the 'not to be missed' opportunity to fit a radiator in my parent's living room. I struggled through that and then took to my bed to sleep off the incessant throbbing behind my eyes.:wacko:

Still feeling rough now, but another radiator fitted is another radiator fitted.:thumbsup:

I've been adding up the (potential) costs of building my electric trike and getting it road legal. It makes more economic, and paperwork, sense to buy a non running Rascal/Supercarry/Hijet type van or pick up and convert it.:sad:

:hugs::hugs::hugs:

Well done with the radiator, what did you do, have them kidnapped for a day?;)

Hope you feel better soon.:smooch:

So, go with the head, and save the heart for later. Convert something practical for working, and plan a fun build for.. well, fun.

I've forgotten a word. I want to describe someone, someone I don't much like. Someone who uses their academic title to introduce themselves in a situation where everyone else just uses names. Someone who clearly thinks they are above others. I've used the phrase "He's a ..... git isn't he?" before, and ... is the word I can't remember. I keep thinking of pretentious, or precocious, or patronising, but I don't think it is any of them, although I'm not sure now if it isn't patronising after all.

Help!

Honestly, I just couldn't get the word, I got all those others stuck in my head and couldn't get past them.
Happens to me a lot. There's no coming back from being forced to say "hot poury thing" and gesticulate wildly because you've temporarily mislaid the word "kettle". :blush:

It's interesting - academia is full of people like that. I must have worked with at least a dozen over the last 15 years. It is as if a university is providing some form of community care for their likes.
I knew I should have stuck it and out and completed my M.Phil...
