Calum had been back 'oop north' in Leeds for a long weekend and called in to see me on his way back to Bristol today. We had intended to go for a hilly walk to a cafe but conditions were a bit grim and he didn't have walking boots so we spent a couple of hours in the new town hall cafe instead where Calum was kind enough to treat me to a veggie brunch. I completely forgot to take pictures of it so you will have to imagine the buttered toast, fried eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, veggie sausages etc. That's my fasting day postponed again!

Made I laugh.

It's a pulled muscle in my thigh and I was in a bike shop at the time (looking at the Brooks saddles). Guess what I've bought even though I can't really afford it?

My variation on the fast diet has gone for a burton, can't seem to get myself in the right frame of mind any longer, was going so well a few weeks ago too.

Got to post this, as I cannae believe what happened today
Went to the doc for some x-ray results - thought I'd damaged my thumb at work, the wee cheeky sod said no damage, got the onset of arthritis "expected in anybody over the age of 45"
Never heard the likes of it: I told him in no uncertain term that I am nifty at 50 (can he no see the cycle helmet I was carrying??) and that I would talk to him again in 10 years time, my usual time gap between appointments
