NT has been pottering about in the bathroom with a tape measure

I've told him, soap on the rails will cause derailments.

The current temporary bathroom, which should be the utility room for the kitchen in the future, just fits the two 1600x1200mm L shaped bits of worktop. That will give me a 1600x2400 U shaped layout that would fit the smallest Hornby radius curves in the two 800mm wide ends and also the next two radius curves in the corners. I could have a nice layout like that.

I don't really need a utility room.

Well, NT did just get up and disappear into the bathroom, but I don't think he had any track stashed away in there.

We have to go out and buy some tiles today, having discovered that half the old ones that were 'in stock' are 150mm by 150mm, whereas the area his Dad needs to patch is tiled with 6" by 6". The joy of metrication.
